Designed and made in Melbourne
We design and manufacture all our stuff right here in Melbourne. (Just 30 kms from our Fitzroy showroom, if you want to get specific.) That way we can…keep our carbon footprint small, and create a quality product working closely alongside skilled craftspeople and support local businesses. Big ideas, small footprint.
10-year guarantee
We build our furniture to last. All our sofa frames come with a 10-year guarantee, so you can be confident your new sofa will live on. (And on. And on.)
VOC-free foam
Not to alarm you, but a bunch of cheaper furniture foams contain VOCs, aka Volatile Organic Compounds, aka nasty chemicals that can float up out of your furniture and into your body. You don’t want VOCs. Neither do we. That’s why all our foams are certified VOC-free (by GECA, no less), so you can kick back and relax in comfort and good health.
FSC-certified timber
No old-growth forests were harmed in the making of your sofa. That’s because we only use timber from Australian FSC-certified forests (that’s the Forest Stewardship Council, if you’re curious). The FSC makes sure each piece of wood in your couch was loving felled from a responsibly managed forest, doing good for the planet and creating local jobs in the process.
Skilled craftspeople
We know sofas. And we know what we like. Course, that doesn’t mean we know how to construct high-tension serpentine springs or wield a webbing strainer. That’s why we employ the best craftspeople to bring our sofas to life, from experienced designers and furniture-makers through to upholsters and technicians. And they do it all just 20 minutes’ drive from our Fitzroy HQ.
Responsible Down Standard feathers
Feathers are soft. Our love of animals is hard. That’s why all our feathers meet the Responsible Down Standard. It makes sure our down only comes from animals that have been treated nicely: no force-feeding, no live-plucking, just a life of good grains and TLC
Australian eco wool
It’s not just what’s on the inside that counts. Our Native upholstery option is made from pure Aussie wool and comes with a whole bunch of environmental benefits. It’s 90% more sustainable than other fabrics, and – if you ever decide to reupholster – is 100% biodegradable and recyclable. But that’s not all. Our wool is certified low-pesticide and low-VOC. Better still, it actually absorbs indoor air contaminants. Think of it as an air purifier you can sit on.

Prefer your furniture entirely animal-free? All our models come with wool and feather alternatives, for the vegan couch-lovers out there.
